It’s very hard for my brain to work when my mind is hovering around the drops of sweat trickling from head to toe…Its sooooooo very Hot around here. And come to think of it, the people on other side of globe celebrate summers 😉 Well summers reminded me of summer vacation of my kid and everyone around pops the same question at my face…”what is your travel plan this vacation”? Traveling for me is as cumbersome as it could be, but its more torture for the people moving with me (With people I mean, generally Hubby). Local Trains are too…

Firstly Let me Thank , all of those wonderful people who shared the tips on how to keep a kid occupied at home during Holidays. I am surely trying to follow all the suggestions given by you. IÂ am not comfortable with Summer Camps and practically speaking there aren’t any good options available around our place. So for now, the mornings are spend watching some cartoons on T.V, afternoons in practising some Keyboard (Piano) lessons . Thanks to dear hubby who got this wonderful book ,where the notes are explained in such a simple way, that now our son is…

I thought life will be bit easier as soon as summer vacation of my kid will begin, but no luck as such ! With scorching heat outside and not many amusements inside home, my kid is as bored as myself. For how much time could one remain occupied with indoor games and Idiot box ? So now though I am not worried about what to pack for his lunch and drop and pick up from his school, I am constantly pondering over how to keep him fruitfully occupied. Any ideas(except sending him for any summer classes)?? Well now coming to…

Home Sweet Home…We all love the simple warmth and comfort of our home, don’t we? No matter how small or palatial the place we live is,no matter how many inconveniences and problems are in our paradise, but still we tend to love our home more than any other place. I too love my place, despite of all its negative aspects,i adore this place of mine. But then, sometimes we also long to visit a friend’s or relative’s place or some holiday destination to overcome the feeling of routine monotonous life and to rejuvenate ourselves Well same hold true for me, and though I…

Come March and all the mothers of school going kids, (in Maharashtra at least) are sweating over the just in sultry Summers and final examinations of kids at schools. The rising mercury and increasing anxiety about exams surely plays a great role in losing appetite and the enthusiasm to cook elaborate meals. It surely is the time for those quick fix lunches like Bhugha chanvran and curds or the Dhodho with some buttermilk. The rising prices of fresh (???) vegetables in summer is inversely proportional to the freshness and hence it is hard to stock some green veggies and utilize them before they…

Human beings are really nasty…When a kid is supposed to act like a kid, he/she wants to be treated like an adult. And when finally one day, the little, cute kid had grown enough to take the worldly responsibilities, all he /she needs is to become a kid again and get pampered by the family. Sounds similar to your thoughts?? Well I don’t know about you, but I definitely, am a confused soul. While I was a sweet little kid (No giggling please…I was actually sweet, mind you…..), I hated those cheek pulling aunties and wished I grew up a little…

Sky is blue, Tomatoes are red, Milk is white, and Hairs are black…well this was what my son knew about colors of things that he sees, in day to day life. He was taught that cabbage is light green, capsicums are dark green, cauliflower is pale white and tomatoes are big and red (or sometimes greenish red). Every 7 year old kid knows at least these basics about colours. But when he chanced upon a big purple cabbage, a red and a yellow colored capsicum, dark green cauliflower (broccoli) he was amused. Then he also confused cherry tomatoes with Cherries,…
